Our Mission

The mission of Pathways is to ensure that families have access to high quality, inclusive child development programs and resources, so that all children can achieve their full potential

Vision

To be a community resource of excellence in training and model services for inclusion of children with special needs in early care and education programs.

2008-2012 Strategic Goals

Parents as Partners in Children’s Early Learning

  • Increase parents’ ability to contribute to their children’s early learning through expansion of parent education programs, supportive services, and access to community resources

Inclusion of Children with Disabilities & Other Special Needs in Early Care Programs

  • Establish Pathways Child Development Center at Eagle Rock as a model site for training in inclusion of children with special needs in center-based and family child care homes by expanding special needs services, creating in-service and pre-professional training programs, and remodeling of the existing site to accommodate expanded training activities, curriculum, and therapeutic services

Child Care Workforce Development

  • Improve the early learning environments for children in all of our programs by increasing the core competencies of early care providers through expanded provider training offerings, in-service staff training and development, and through partnerships with academic institutions to mentor the future child care workforce

Child Care Quality Rating Systems

  • Provide leadership in the creation of standards and operational guidelines for inclusion of children with special needs in early care programs, including developmental screening and best practices in inclusive curricula and family-centered, comprehensive care
