West Hollywood Preschool
Pathways operates the West Hollywood Preschool, a full service childcare center with a maximum capacity of 34 children, ages 3-to-5 years. The City of West Hollywood and the Los Angeles County Office of Education provide funding for this program. Participants must live or work in West Hollywood in order to be eligible for these services.

The Preschool contains two classrooms with 17 children in each, most of them enrolled in full-day programs, but part-day is also available. A variety of appropriate leaming and play activities are structured each day and relate to the weekly lesson plans which are designed to correlate to that month's theme for the preschool. For example, Community Services might be the theme and in a particular week the children are chaperoned on a field trip to the Fire Station. The activities on another day might include a visit from a neighborhood professional, such as a nurse or a policeman. On another day appropriate crafts for the children to make are supervised which also correspond to the theme. The preschool also provides, free of charge, nutritious snacks and meals to the children in the program.

The highly qualified staff at the West Hollywood Preschool is presently two Master Teachers, one Teacher, one Teacher Assistant, one Nutritional Aide, and a Site Supervisor. Parents are encouraged to attend whenever possible.

Besides residency and/or work requirements, there are other eligibility requirements necessary to enroll a child in this subsidized preschool. In some cases, a minimal parent fee (currently $45.00 per month per child) will be required. For additional information, please contact the West Hollywood Preschool Site Supervisor at (323) 850-3090 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Family Child Care Network
While Pathways' Resource and Referral Department offers referrals to numerous home childcare providers, Early Intervention Services is responsible for two such programs: The West Hollywood Family Child Care Network and the Echo Park Child Care Network. Families who qualify for services under CalWorks or the California Department of Education regulations may choose to place their child into one of the private provider homes which have contracted with Pathways under these two programs. The provider homes are located in the City of West Hollywood and the Echo Park area of Los Angeles.

Pathways not only assists parents with the enrollment process for these programs, but also provides various trainings and resource assistance to these Family Network providers on an ongoing basis to help ensure that a good quality environment and child care is maintained year-round.

Families interested in accessing these programs need to fill out an application in order for Pathways to determine eligibility and the number of hours of child care, which may be provided in these licensed or license exempt homes. Eligibility and services depends upon the family's circumstances and may vary as the family's needs change. Once eligible, there is no cost to the family for these services.

For additional information, please contact the Early Intervention Administrative Coordinator at (213) 427-2714 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
